The Barberettes' performance at 2015 Asialink Chairman's Dinner

High heels and red lipstick are appropriate attire for this special group from South Korea . Described as a 'time travelling girl group that sings ‘50s-‘60s American and Korean pop music', The Barberettes fuse covers of iconic doo-wop hits with original retro-inspired compositions. Performing at 2015 Asialink Chairman's Dinner were Shinae An Wheeler, Sunnie Lee and Sohee Park and guitarist Sohyun Park (other band members travelling with the the Barberettes include Bradley Wheeler and Saeha Lee). The Barberettes have toured across Europe and the USA, and now for the first time to Melbourne, Australia.

The Barberettes were in Melbourne for Multicultural Arts Victoria’s Mapping Melbourne – a new initiative to showcase contemporary independent Asian arts from Australia and across the region. Funded by DFAT - the Australia Korea Foundation, Australia Council for the Arts, Creative Victoria, Playking Foundation, City of Melbourne, MIFA fine arts and Kabo Lawyers, these sweet sweet harmonies direct from Seoul were amazing.
