India

In the report An India Economic Strategy To 2035[1] to the Australian Government, Peter Varghese AO states it is an ambitious plan to transform Australia's economic partnership with India.

With more growth opportunities for Australian businesses than any other market, Australian exports to India could grow from $14.9 billion in 2017 to around $45 billion by 2035. With a focus on 10 sectors and 10 states, the India Economic Strategy is a highly focused strategy. The education sector has been identified as the flagship sector.

A transformational expansion of the Australia-India economic relationship could also see outward Australian investment to India rise from $10.3 billion to over the $100 billion in the same period.

This event will provide expert insights into the following:

  • India economic strategy and relationship with peak associations
  • E-Commerce and India’s appetite for high-quality imports
  • How India might support its projected growth and the relationship with Australian investors
