Residencies
Residencies in China are becoming increasingly popular. The earliest and best known began in the early 1990’s with strong links to specific countries: Nordica - Norway, Organhaus - Germany, Red Gate – Australia. These residencies had partnership agreements with Western funding bodies and government agencies, which provided support for artists undertaking their residencies.
In recent years there has been an increase in smaller residencies being operated by Chinese nationals and enthusiastic expats. As with everything in China growth is rapid and so is change so it is best to research which residencies are currently available via the sites listed below:
