Course details

The China Capability and Language Centre offers Summer Intensive Chinese Language Courses from 13 to 24 January 2025. Through 20 hours of concentrated instruction over the course of two weeks, our summer intensive courses offer an accelerated learning experience, perfect for students and professionals seeking to make faster progress in their language skills.

This summer we will offer two intensive course levels:

  • Chinese for Absolute Beginners

  • Intermediate Chinese.

Chinese for Absolute Beginners is a comprehensive language course designed for those with minimal or no prior experience in Mandarin Chinese.

  • Classes run Monday-Friday 10am-12pm from 13–24 January 2025.

Intermediate Chinese is for students who have mastered 300 commonly used words and basic grammar. The course focuses on practical communication for simple, routine tasks.

  •  Classes run Monday-Friday 1pm-3pm from 13–24 January 2025.

Learning materials are included in the course cost. Places are limited – please register early to avoid disappointment. Refunds cannot be issued for withdrawals after the commencement of the course.

Please note that the deadline to register for the programs is 5pm Thursday 2nd January 2025

The course is offered in a hybrid format. You can enjoy engaging daily in-person sessions, coupled with the freedom to choose online learning, either partially or entirely. This approach ensures that participants have the flexibility they need to tailor their language-learning journey to their unique preferences and schedules.

In-person classes are conducted by Asialink's China Capability and Language Centre (CCLC) at University of Melbourne's Parkville campus, and are streamed for online attendees.
