What we do

Asialink develops capabilities, connections and insights across four areas of expertise:

  • Arts and culture: Elevating the agency and capability of the arts and cultural sectors in Australia and Asia, through regional insights, exchanges and connections.
  • Business: Equipping an Asia-capable workforce to seize opportunities in our region through practical capability development programs, tailored advisory and insights services, and public forums and events.
  • Diplomacy: Cultivating people-to-people dialogue and mutual understanding between Australia and Asia through forums, events, and in-depth analysis from around the region.
  • Education: Empowering school leaders, teachers and students with global perspectives, intercultural understanding, and relationships to engage with Asia.

Working with business, government, educators, private enterprise and NGOs in Australia and Asia, our mission is to build a better, stronger, shared future for all.

Asialink is a non-academic department of The University of Melbourne and was established in 1990 as a joint initiative of the Australian Government, the University of Melbourne and the Myer Foundation.
