The Supporting Asia Literacy report by Asialink Education highlights the importance of strengthening Australians’ knowledge, skills, and understanding of Asia to support the country’s economic, social, and diplomatic engagement with the region.

The report argues that Asia literacy is currently declining and calls for a coordinated national strategy to improve:

  • education
  • teacher training
  • school partnerships
  • language learning opportunities

It emphasises that building Asia literacy through the education system is essential for Australia’s future prosperity, regional relationships, and social cohesion.
