A Message from the CEO

Asialink is Australia’s leading centre for creative engagement with Asia.

We work with diverse communities in Australia and Asia to build a strong, shared future for all.

In these challenging times, we wanted to let you know that we remain in business and committed to our core mission of building links between Australia and Asia.

But, like others, our immediate focus is on keeping members of our community safe and well.  It is for this reason that Asialink has closed all of its offices nationally from 24 March. Our team will be working remotely for the foreseeable future.

Australia and Asia are facing a grave threat to human security from the rapid spread of coronavirus, reaping a level of economic and social disruption not seen since the Second World War.

We continue to do what we do best – sharing insights, building capability and creating the connections which matter for Australia in navigating its relationships in Asia.  Asialink will be using new and different channels and platforms in the weeks ahead to implement our programs. We look forward to connecting with you through those.

We believe our job right now is to ensure that when conditions permit we are positioned to resume normal operations in our Australia-Asia engagement across diplomacy, business, education, and arts and culture.

Countries are naturally turning inwards as they seek to cope with and eradicate COVID-19.  But now more than ever we need effective regional engagement based on imaginative diplomacy and agile economic policies to help us weather the immediate crisis and position ourselves for future recovery.  We also, more than ever, need expert insights into how the region is rising to the current challenges and likely to evolve.

We will play our part, working with you – our audiences and our stakeholders – to contribute to both those tasks.

Stay with us on the journey.
