Establishing international school partnerships
The Australia–India BRIDGE School Partnerships Program connects Australian teachers, students and school communities with their counterparts in India.
This year Nambucca Head High School joined the program to establish an international school partnership with Indirapuram Public School in India to improve student-learning outcomes. They are one of eight schools around Australia in 2017 embarking on this nationally acclaimed program aimed at fostering greater ties between Australia and India through education.
As whole school professional learning program BRIDGE builds teachers' Asia capability through school partnerships and supports participants to develop their intercultural understanding, improve language skills, enhance technology skills, and establish sustainable school partnerships and a community network of learners.
From the 13th – 20th the of May, Nambucca Head High School hosted Vice Principal, Ms Anjali Verma from their partner school in India to collaborate on professional teacher practice and develop strategies to make the most of and maintain their international school partnership.
In a recent interview with NBN News Head English teacher Ms Seckold said of the program 'having a homestay [allowed me to] not only to connect professionally but personally [which helped] my understanding of the Indian culture and therefore...my students'.
