2026 Chinese-Australian Community Leaders Summit

Program overview
The Chinese-Australian Community Leaders Summit is a fully funded 2.5-day program in Canberra from 28 to 30 April 2026.
The Summit helps emerging and established Chinese-Australian leaders build knowledge, skills and networks. Participants will:
- meet key representatives in Canberra
- take part in policy and institutional briefings
- work with other leaders to strengthen community participation
The program is led by Asialink, in partnership with Susan Gin, and supported by the National Foundation for Australia-China Relations.
Applications are now open. The Summit brings together leaders from across Australia to:
- learn about Australia’s civic processes and institutions
- engage with senior government officials, policymakers and community representatives
- strengthen leadership skills in advocacy and community-building
- connect and collaborate on future initiatives
Who can apply
We welcome applications from people who:
- identify as being of Chinese heritage (including mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Southeast Asian Chinese communities)
- are Australian citizens, permanent residents or long-term visa holders, and are over 18 years old
- are actively involved in community, cultural, professional or advocacy work
- want to strengthen civic knowledge and participation in their communities
- represent diverse experiences, professions, ages and languages
Both emerging and established leaders are encouraged to apply.
We encourage applications from people in all states and territories. This includes those living in regional and rural areas.

How to apply
To apply, you must complete and submit your application online through Typeform.
You will need to provide:
- basic personal and demographic details
- short answers about your leadership experience, motivation and future vision
How we select participants
We choose participants based on their leadership in the community, their motivation and the impact they can make.
We also look at balance in the group. This includes:
- regions people come from
- age groups
- work sectors
- cultural and language backgrounds
Key dates
- Applications open on Monday 15 December 2025
- Applications close on Friday 23 January 2026
- We will notify outcomes on Friday 27 February 2026
- The summit will run from Tuesday 28 April 2026 to Thursday 30 April 2026
