About the conference
In partnership with Australia Institute for International Affairs Victoria, Global Victoria, the Australia India Institute, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) Victoria State Office, and the Australia India Chamber of Commerce, Asialink was proud to co-convene The South Asia Conference, which was held in Melbourne on Thursday, 13 July 2023.
This year, the theme was: Trade and Security, with a focus on India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka within the context of the Indo-Pacific region. The event explored potential opportunities for increased trade and investment between Australia and the South Asian markets.
Attendees had the opportunity to participate in discussions and workshops featuring keynote speaker The Hon. Tim Watts MP, Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs, who delved into the key trade and security issues facing the three countries.
