Roundtable Discussion on Tackling Aging Population Challenges
On June 4th 2024, Asialink and the Contemporary Centre for Chinese Studies co-hosted a delegation from the Development and Research Centre of China’s State Council (DRC), to discuss policies for tackling aging populations.

About this Roundtable
Due to China’s rapidly aging population, with 28% of the population being projected to be aged over 60 by 2040, the delegation had a great interest in the Australian approach to tackling their own aging population.
The discussion focused on Australian superannuation policy, the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and the multi-pronged approach taken towards skilled migration.
