2024 Australia-New Zealand Region Chinese Teaching Forum

In partnership with the Chinese Language Teachers’ Association of Victoria (CLTAV), Asialink's China Capability and Language Centre (CCLC) was proud to host the 2024 Australia-New Zealand Region Chinese Teaching Forum at the University of Melbourne.  

To celebrate the 50^th anniversary of the establishment of the CLTAV, we invited colleagues from all over Australia and New Zealand to celebrate with us. The conference included a forum of international experts in Chinese education presenting current updates on emerging issues and challenges arising in international Chinese education, and promoting the development of Chinese education in the Australia-New Zealand region. 

Conference dialogues focused on topics including: 

• a retrospective of fifty years of Chinese teaching in Australia 
• the practice and reflection on the localisation of international Chinese education in Australia 
• the past and future of Chinese language and the Chinese teaching profession in Australia 
• opportunities and challenges brought by new technological developments 
• communication between Chinese education in primary, secondary and tertiary education institutions.
