Asialink Leaders Arts Fellowships

Asialink is proud to offer one Asialink Arts Fellowship which will be awarded to an applicant with abilities and ambitions related to Asia engagement. Applicants from all areas of the Arts and Creative Industries are eligible to apply.

The Asialink Arts Fellowship covers the full Program fee of $11,900 +GST.

Though I’ve been deeply engaged in cultural exchange with Asia for some time, the Asialink Leaders Program opened my eyes to the breadth of engagement between Australia and its neighbours in education, science and technology, industry and civil society. I was particularly inspired by my cohort, whose wide variety of working backgrounds and life experiences thoroughly enriched the program, and created new perspectives on how of might work within my own organisation, while affirming the significance of the artistic work that we are doing.

- Reuben Keehan, Curator of Contemporary Asian Art and Asian and Pacific Art at the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art

The Asialink Arts Fellowship aims to:

  • Strengthen and elevate the Asia-capability in artists and creative industry workers
  • Ensure the insights and perspectives of those working in the arts are reflected in our understanding of engagement with Asia
  • Enhance connections between arts and creative workers across Asia
  • Recognise the importance of the arts and creative industries in building connections and trust between the nations of Asia

The Asialink Leaders program gave rigour and depth to my experiences of engaging with Asia through the arts. I enjoyed learning and spending time with my cohort, who came from a broad variety of workplaces and contexts very different to mine. The experience reminded me that my perspectives from a creative sector lens are valuable and distinctive.
